2000 Toyota Tundra Have Timing Belt Or Chain
For everyone asking everywhere.
2000 toyota tundra have timing belt or chain. In the second generation cars with the 57 40 and 46L engines have a chain. It is recommended to be changed every 60000 miles or at least checked at that point. I have looked everywhere and cant find the answer.
V8 47L Belt change every 90k miles V8 57L Chain. OK which is true. 57 has a timing chainNO BELT.
4 Apr 15 2004. The 2000 Toyota Tundra uses a timing belt rather than a timing chain for both of the 34 L V6 and the 47 L V8 engine. From the 2000 model year onward it switched over to the timing chain.
Wrapped a few towels around the frame so as not to scratch it. The 47L V8s have a Timing Belt. In the end.
You will come into many problems with an engine. For the first generation Tundra cars with the 1GR-FE engine have a chain and the 34 and 47L have a belt. Your air filter needs to be replaced every 15000 to 30000 miles.
Some Toyota engines have timing belts some have timing chains. One of the hardest bits was taking. My owners manual says to change it at 90K.
