I now have a hole the size of a softball in the frame that is rusted through in two locations. Most recently my alignment components seized up with rust and now the vehicle can not be properly aligned with out replacement of those components. 2000 toyota tundra rust recall. The 2012 recall they noted severe rust and even replaced the gas tank brackets but otherwise nothing was done. The Tundra has been recalled 54 times. I took the bed off 1st time with any truck not to difficult.

Others may have posted about this new one in these older threads but since the later owners were left out back then they may not have bothered to check older threads about a recall that they were excluded from. I had both recalls done2009 and 2012 at my Toyota dealership. No apology no offer to talk to the manager no help.

The structure of the bed on the Tundra should not be this badly compromised with rust unacceptable to me. To fix it Toyota recommends replacing the entire box and bed at 6000 to 7000. I undercoated the frame pretty well then both sides of the bed.

Called Toyota dealer and they advised that the full frame recall expired in 2012 however the recall for the cross member under the bed was still active. Car complaints car problems and defect information. Stopped by my local Toyota dealer today to ask about TSBs on this issue.

No assistance was offered. We had some bed rust starting 2013 Tundra. Showed the nice man the rust and he said and with a very blank look on his face.

When I took it in for service the mechanic called me to come have a look at the frame. Just purchased a 2000 Toyota Tundra SR5 4x4 with V8 frame is in pretty rough shape. The 2010 model year has been involved in the most campaigns.
