2006 Toyota Tundra Tire Pressure Sensor Blinking
I can get my tire shop and the local Toyota dealership to reset it but it just starts flashing again after I drive 50 miles.
2006 toyota tundra tire pressure sensor blinking. A sensor could have failed or the system may need to be relearned. If the tire pressure warning light does not blink slowly three times when you push and hold the reset switch initialization has failed and the TPMS may not work properly. If you push the tire pressure reset switch accidentally and initialization is performed adjust the tire inflation pressure to the specified level and initialize the system again.
When the tire is filled or if the tires are changed or rotated the tire-pressure sensors must be reset to turn off the warning light and reinitialize the system. If your TPMS sensor has failed or its battery has died the tire pressure monitoring system warning light will come on. These steps are for the 2006 Tacoma Prerunner Double Cab but may also work for other models as well.
Start the car and wait 20 minutes for the sensor to refresh. Put the key in the ignition and turn on the battery but dont start the car. The good news is I have a full set of winter steel wheels with TPMS sensors and the ATEQ TPMS Quickset tool.
Resetting the system allows the Tundra to accurately measure. If the light flashes for one to two minutes it indicates there is a malfunction in the TPMS system. To reset the baseline pressure the need to all be set to the same cold tire pressure.
Check your car owners manual. The system also monitors the pressure in the spare tire. 425 people have looked at this part recently.
The bad news is I dont know which TPMS sensor is going down. Then while the truck is running hold the tire pressure button for a few seconds until it blinks. If this is not for a 4runner there may be a different procedure to reset the sensors but try.
